Bijalee girane Sridevi aayee!

Roop ki raani, dilo ki chor. That is what describes Sridevi best. She has a body to die for. She personified beauty like no other women did. “Thunder Thighs” never looked cool before she showed us how to flaunt it. Hospitals never reported so many cases of heartbreaks before she came to this industry. This Southern spice tamed the showbiz beast.
Sridevi was already a big teen sensation down south with over 30 films under her belt, but she was all but sweet 16. When she came to Bollywood, she had to face the bitter truth. Box-office failure. She returned back to Telugu and Tamil films and came back after three years. Back with a bamg! She did Himmatwala with Jeetendra which was a phenomenal hit. The grand sets, the peppy music and the dance moves were enough to mesmerize the audience. With this film, the superstar in Sridevi surfaced. A star was reborn. Being the queen of Bollywood was destined and it was a matter of time before she could wear the crown. The beauty about Sridevi was that she was not just a glam doll or an arm candy, she as an artist before she was a star. She did justice to her art quotient by acting in sensitive films like Sagma. Her Southern spice did wonders for her in Bollywood. She was being called the next Rekha. She charged as much as her male counterparts did and she commanded that respect too. There were films being made keeping Sridevi in mind. Nagina and Chandini took her career graph to heights that no female co-star of hers had ever imagined. She was a dream for her male actors and a nightmare for her female counterparts. She sent sock waves when she married Boney Kapoor only to face the ire of his first wife Boney Kapoor. Post marriage, Sridevi took a sabastical and has given up everything for motherhood. She made a comeback in 2012 with English Vinglish which was a huge hit. We hope to see more and dance even more often.
