The top-notch dancer that he is, Shahid Kapoor will be seen doing some ultra-massy tapori-ishtyle dance moves in his next film R… Rajkumar. Touted to be a mass entertainer, the movie is an action flick directed by Prabhu Deva.
Speaking at the music launch of the movie, Shahid Kapoor said, “Prabhu Dheva and I are from very different schools of dancing. I have never danced in this style before. (the tapori style). He has the midas touch of teasing women in tapori style (through dance in films).”
Shahid said that matching steps with the ace choreographer was a major challenge for him. “I used to think I am a good dancer, but that was before I met Prabhu Deva. For the dance sequences in R… Rajkumar, I used to rehearse for four-five hours. He has worked really hard to make me dance like this,” Shahid added.
“I had to rehearse a lot for Gandi Baat. I think its a privilege to be choreographed by him. I just tried to copy him as much as I could in all the songs,” Shahid said.
“I am a bad dancer. Whatever I have managed to do is all because of Prabhu Deva. I hope I did 5 per cent of what he had expected out of me. This song Kadhu Katega will be my Munni Badnaam“, added the 32 year old actor.
The movie which stars Sonakshi Sinha as the female lead and Sonu Sood in a leading negative role, releases on December 6th.
