The makers of the movie Dhoom 3 have decided to release the movie only in theaters equipped with digital technology to screen the film. This was sent as a message to theaters all over the country, to ensure the ones who actually want to screen the movie will go ahead and upgrade to the digital systems.
Now, many single screen theaters are disappointed because they can’t screen the most awaited movie of this year. While they are lamenting, YRF (the producers of D3), are willing to have monetary losses because the movie is not being released in non-digital theaters. The reason behind this is that digital formats are traceable and by using them, piracy can be curbed to a great extent.
Releasing through digital technology and UFO digital cinema will prevent piracy as the prints are water-marked and finger-printed and can be traced back.
The movie starring Abhishek Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif, will release on December 20th.
