Himesh Reshammiya will be next seen in a movie titled The Xpose. Now this movie is a period film set in the 1960s and revolves around real life incidents that happened in the Hindi film industry during that period. The characters are also based on real life people; Himesh is playing a role based on the legendary cop-turned-superstar Raaj Kumar.
The movie will be directed by the National Award winning director Ananth Narayan Madhavan, whose Marathi film Mee Sindhutai Sapkal. A source says “Other than this, Mahadevan has been at the helm of another critically acclaimed film Red Alert – The War Within (2009). Now with The Xpose, he and Himesh are looking at probing the decade of 60s which has never been explored before. In fact it would be entering a space that will be a revelation in Hindi cinema.”
“The characters in that era were truly larger than life and the glamour industry was going through the biggest change when the first sex symbol of the film industry was introduced in this era. The sudden death of a female star plunges the film in a cauldron of mystery,” the source continues, “Himesh, who has lost 12 kgs, will play a character inspired by yesteryear actor Raajkumar, a suspended cop turned superstar.”
“The real surprise is still awaited as The Xpose is slated to introduce two female leads whose characters have been designed on the lines of Zeenat Aman and Parveen Babi, both of whom had entered the film industry in 1967,” our source adds.
Looks like we are gonna get an insight into the world of Indian cinema in the 1960s…
