There were reports that the new Salman Khan starrer ‘Jai Ho’ has gone to Eros International for a sum of Rs.110 crores, but sources close to Salman are saying that the price is much-much higher. “It’s much more than Rs. 110 crores. We haven’t put a finger on the final sum, but it’d be closer to Rs. 180 crores and the deal is not closed yet,” says a source.
According to sources, the film’s producer-director is also in negotiations with UTV and Viacom 18 over ‘Jai Ho’.
Eros haven’t managed to grab the production/distribution rights for any of the Khan starrer movies. Hence, if Eros finally manages to bag Salman’s prized premium product, the movie will be Salman’s first release in 17 months, depends on how far the negotiations go with other production companies as well. We have also heard that UTV, whose last blockbuster Chennai Express starred Shahrukh are also keen to release Salman’s next film worldwide.
When contacted Sohail Khan about the deal, he said, “Please don’t under-sell my film. I am shooting in Panvel and quite cut from what is being written.”
