Sooper Se Ooper Movie Review
Cast: Vir Das, Deepak Dobriyal, Kirti Kulhari, Gulghan Grover
Director: Shekhar Ghosh
Producer: Reliance Entertainement, Jigsaw Pictures
Shekhar Ghosh’s directorial debut Sooper Se Ooper starring Vir Das, Gulshan Grover, Deepak Dobriyal, Kirti Kulhari and Yashpal Sharma released today along with Mickey Virus and Ishq Actually. Shot in Rajasthan, the movie is produced by Reliance Entertainment and Jigsaw Pictures. The movie revolves around an Indian superstition related to making a will (legal document).
Two brothers, Ranvir (Vir Das) and Kukreja (Deepak Dobriyal) are the two main characters in the movie. Ranvir’s who’s facing some financial problems, comes to a point of selling his ancestral property for money. But that’s when the twist arrives and brings some havoc in his life as he comes to know that his ancestral land was not willed to him by his parents. And the story travels from village to city and back to the village and then again to the city.
The movie is as described by the producer, a ‘clean comedy’ and can be watched by people of all age groups. Vir Das does an amazing job and he always will, when it comes to such roles. He’s so convincing and into himself when he delivers those punches. Certainly one of the very few talented comedians left in our industry. Deepak Dobriyal who’s also a very talented actor, does his job with absolute perfection. Gulshan Grover needs to polish up his acting skills a bit (maybe a break is not good for everyone).
Overall, the movie is pretty much average and maybe if you’re bored and interested to see Vir Das tickle your ribs, go watch it!
