Mickey Virus Review
Cast: Manish Paul, Elli Avram, Puja Gupta, Varun Badola
Director: Saurabh Sharma
Mickey Virus, a comic thriller starring Manish Paul and Elli Avram hits the theatres today and it’s directed by filmmaker Saurabh Varma. The movie resembles Ayushmann Khurrana’s Vicky Donor in many ways, mostly for it’s young and peppy feel to it. Ayushmann Khurrana surprised us with his exceptional performance and that connection he made with the young audience. Same goes for Manish Paul’s debut but script was not really upto the mark!
Story: Delhi Police is introduced to a new case revolved around cyber crime – hacking. And the first step the take, is to hire a computer hacker who can help them crack the case. Manish Choudhary who plays the role of ACP Siddhanth stumbles upon Manish Arora (Manish Paul). Manish Arora is a lazy guy but has a good amount of knowledge in terms of hacking.
Manish runs a grocery store in the day time and creates virus for anti-virus companies along with his friend Chutney (Puja Gupta). Manish is madly in love with a character that he created in his game called ‘Kung Fu Chameli’. He’s always keen on escaping work and getting engrossed in stuff which he loves to do but ACP Siddhanth and Inspector Bhalla (Varun Badola) are always on his tail! So this sums up the story. Will you go watch it? Thought so!
Manish Paul was not bad at all. Infact, it was an impressive debut for a youngster like him and also considering the character that he played. Elli Avram has no important role in the flick and is ignored completely. Puja Gupta, Varun Badola and Manish Choudhary pull off their roles pretty convincingly.
Overall, an okay movie (maybe because there wasn’t much to expect). The question is, will it be as good as Vicky Donor? Wait.. no.
