Gear up for the first ever Indian Music Academy – Marathi Music Awards

Art And Artistes (I) Pvt. Ltd. and GSEAMS (Global Sports Entertainment And Media Solutions Pvt. Ltd.) announced the Indian Music Academy – Marathi Music Awards 2013. The Indian Music Academy (IMA) is India’s most authentic platform for the promotion and popularization of all forms of Indian music including Classical, Semi Classical, Spiritual, Sufi, Qawwali, Folk, Ghazal, Indian Rock and Jazz and Pop, amongst many others. It is the CSR initiative of Art And Artistes, founded by Durga Jasraj, whose Founder Patron is Pandit Jasraj and Honorary Patron is Lata Mangeshkar .

The IMA Awards is India’s most definitive platform, which seeks to recognize excellence in composition, lyrics and technical expertise & celebrate popular music/ songs, singers and emerging talent, across every genre of India’s rich and diverse landscape of music. The Marathi Music Awards will be given across 15 categories – Film Music, Lyricist, Hindustani Classical music, Non Marathi Singer contribution to Marathi Films, Outstanding Biographical Film on a music legend, Outstanding Performance on hit song, and others. Along with Jury Award selection, Popular Choice Awards will also be open for the public to vote for.The ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ will be presented to Maestro Usha Mangeshkar for her dedicated and continuous service to Marathi Music. Maestro Hariharan will be honoured for his ‘Special Contribution to Marathi Music’. The ‘Star Singer’ Award will be presented to the superstar and Producer and Director Sachin Pilgaonkar.

To ensure maximum reach and multiple touch points, to make ‘IMA Marathi Music Awards 2013, one of the biggest music celebrations in Marathi industry, a multimedia marketing plan has been put in place involving Television, Outdoor (BRIGHT), Print, Cinema (UFO Moviez), Print (Sakal) Radio and Digital, wherein people will vote for their favorite lyricist, composers and singers. The Awards night will be held on 26th of October 2013, at the Ravindra Natya Mandir with a glittering set of performances and never seen before acts, witnessed by the who’s who of the Marathi Entertainment Industry.

The IMA Marathi Music Awards is therefore an initiative in the right direction. Commenting on their association, Arjun Singgh Baran & Kartik Nishandar from GSEAMS said “After executing more than 50 Award shows across the country in our previous organisation, when we both started GSEAMS 6 months back & thought about creating our own Intellectual properties the first thought came to our mind is to explore Regional Music thus what better could we have asked but to partner with Durga Jasraj’s Art And Artistes & launch a Marathi Music Awards to be telecast on Maharashtra’s No. 1 channel Star Pravah.
