Actor-comedian Vir Das is all excited about his upcoming movie Sooper Se Ooper, the movie is directed by Kitoo Ghosh, as the movie will be his first solo venture as an actor.
“The audience is accustomed to watching me do quirky comedy, but in this film, the comedy is situational. It is reactive rather than active and that is what sets it apart,” explains Vir Das.
He further adds, “My character Ranvir is a Rajput and is hunting for his only relative, his uncle, played by Gulshan Grover, as there is a land-grabbing issue. This uncle has shunned civilisation and is living in isolation, so I go looking for him. This leads to crazy situations.”
The film, besides Vir Das, will also feature Kirti Kulhari, Deepak Dobriyal and Yashpal Sharma, was shot in the remote locations of Rajasthan in May when the heat was at its peak! Vir recalls, “There were power cuts after eight in the night and we had to grin and bear it. What’s interesting, however, is that Gulshan has donned nothing but a loincloth!”
Sooper Se Ooper is produced by Jigsaw Pictures and will be releasing on October 25.
