Akshay Kumar: Big B is father, mentor, actor, The Boss

Akshay Kumar’s Boss is one of the most hyped movies this year. The actor desperately needed a hit as he worked very hard in the past couple of years and yet, his movies didn’t fare so well. The worst reason for the same was the fact that his last movie Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobara was overshadowed by Shahrukh Khan’s Chennai Express. Now, he went all out to promote Boss and the movie has been a success so far as it ran to almost packed houses on the first day.

Talking about the various “Boss”es in life, Akshay Kumar says his wife Twinkle Khanna is the boss at home. “To be good at love, motherhood, authority, respect, discipline, compassion, scheduling, homework, sports, birthday parties and juggling a job with kids and a busy husband – I mean ‘Men’, come on, we wouldn’t stand a chance. We may be Bosses outside the house but every Boss has a Boss (winks),” says Akki Bhai.

When asked who is the boss during filming, he says “The Producer!! No Producer, no Money. No money, no Director. No Director, no camera. No camera no film. Can you see where this is leading yet? We all bow down to the Producer. I have always tried to make sure that I am a Producer’s Actor. So I hope all my Bosses give me ‘Employee of the Year’ (smiles)”.

Akshay Kumar adds that he considers Amitabh Bachchan to be the Boss in the film industry. “The man does not think he is the boss but he is. Amitabh Ji is like a father to me. A father, a mentor, The Legend”, the Boss adds.

So now Akshay Kumar has become the Boss from the Khiladi eh?
