The Competition Commission of India (CCI) makes sure there are no unfair trade practices. It imposed a fine on 27 film producers in May 2011, in a case related to anti-competition activities by film-makers. Aamir Khan was also one of the film-makers fined under this. This order was passed following a complaint being filed with the CCI by FICCI Multiplex Association of India.
Yesterday, CCI said that it would start recovery proceedings on 9 film-makers including Aamir Khan, who have not paid the penalties imposed on them. The penalties amount to Rs. 2.17 crores in all and Aamir Khan’s fine out of that is Rs. 1 lakh only.
We wonder why Aamir Khan, who is known for his perfectionism, has been involved in a trivial thing like this. Meanwhile, the actor is busy shooting for his next film P.K.
