Since October 1, Sanjay Dutt has been on a 14-day furlough from the Yerawada Central Jail. The actor was supposed to be on his way back to jail, in Pune. Sanjay Dutt had requested the jail authorities to give him another 14 days of furlough due to health reasons. The latest news is that the jail authorities have granted Sanjay Dutt the furlough extension. The 53-year-old actor is currently on a furlough because he had to get his leg treated. With his new request of furlough extension, the jail authorities came to the conclusion today, October 14.
Many people are thinking that Sanju Baba is on a parole. But just to calrify, in legal terms this is called a furlough and not a parole as the the jail authorities had granted him the leave and not the Court. Sanjay Dutt is serving a 42-month long sentence in the Yerawada jail. He was convicted for his role in the 1993 Mumbai blasts as he possessed illegal weapons. The actor has already spent three months in jail and has another 49 months to go before his release. The actor will have to go back to the Jail as per the jail’s order after another 2 weeks of furlough.
