South Indian film songs being remade: The Hottest New Trend

The famous Tamil song “Apadi Pode” which is considered to be an all time favorite was recently remade in Hindi, though it did not manage to create the kind of craze the original did. With remake of South Indian films, the trend of remaking their songs too seeped in. Some were hits while some were duds. Here’s a look at some of the South Indian film songs that were remade, the best and the worst so far!

Hum Na Tode

The song that features in Akshay Kumar’s latest movie “Boss” is very loud, noisy and a vibrant number showcasing Mr. Khiladi in his usual fun and energetic self. A remake of the famous south Indian song “Apadi Pode”, this is not as good as the original but still get’s you grooving.


This is a song from the film “Ek Tha Deewana” with Prateik and Amy Jackson as the lead pair. This beutiful love number is a remake of the south Indian song of the same name. This song was a huge it just like the south version!

Khwabon Khwabon

This is from the John-Genelia starer “force” which was not very popular unlike the orinal Telugu song “chaliya chaliya” which was a huge hit among the crowd. This song failed to attract the crowd an the film was a huge box-office dud.

Dinka CHika

This was a huge hit and got all kinds of people grooving. Weddings, pubs, funcions et al, this song was a huge hit and was a huge frenzy or its quirky lyrics and attractive screenplay. This is a remake o the south song “ringa ringa”.

Zara Zara

This romantic number that sees Dia Mirza and Madhavan in the hit film “Rehena Hai Tere Dil Mein” was a huge hit and was undoubtedly the best ever remake of any south film song. “Vaseegara” was a Tamil song which was later remade in hindi and set everyone’s set tapping.
