War Chhod Na Yaar Movie Review:
Director Faraz Haider
The first ever movie to explore and open up a new genre in Bollywood, War Chhod Na Yaar released today and seems like a war comes alive on the big screen with a mix of comedy in it.
Let me tell you, the movie is certainly not among the other comic flicks which try real hard to tickle your ribs and still fail to do so. The humour in the movie, War Chhod Na Yaar is spoofy, situational, slapstick and raunchy.
Soha Ali Khan plays the role of Rut Dutta, reporter of Tez Channel. And the movie starts with Rut being handed the chance to cover the war between India and Pakistan. Rut heads off to the Indo-Pak border where she meets Sharman Joshi (Raj), captain of the Indian army and we are soon introduced to Javed Jaffery (Qureshi), who plays the captain of Pakistan Army on the other side of the border.
The war is shown from an outside perspective and they decided to keep that stern. Yes, there are a few flaws in the film but with this genre, it’s really tough to stick to one sort of an atmosphere. A few tweaks here and other might just make it better. The director Faraz Haider has done his job really good bringing some amount of fresh art.
Sharman Joshi stands out with his performance and looks like he’s given his everything to the character. As for Javed Jaffery, keeping aside his past films where he’s usually a side-kick comedian, he’s a talented actor as well and proves it by giving us an entertaining performance. Soha Ali Khan does an average job playing the role of a reporter and giving us a detailed ride through the war!
Bottom Line: The film is a one time watch and all the actors have justified their characters pretty good.
