Sonakshi Sinha roped in Subhash Ghai’s ambitious film on Sarabjit Singh

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha is all set to play Sarabjit’s sister, Dalbit Kaur, in filmmaker Subhash Ghai next, a film on the slain Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh, who spent 22-years in a Pakistan jail on espionage charges. The lead actor has not yet been finalized.

For those who are unaware, Sarabjit Singh, a native of Punjab was attacked by fellow inmates and he died in a prison in Lahore this year. His sister, Dalbit Kaur, who battled a long war to bring her brother back home in India, could not succeed.

“Its a sensitive story and we feel it needs to be told. We have spoken to his family and they are quite okay with it… they have given their approval for the project,”
Ghai said.

However, Ghai hasn’t confirmed about roping in Sonakshi Sinha in the film, yet. “We are yet to cast the actors. We are in process of casting and shall let you all know soon,” he said.

The film is likely to go on floors early next year.
