It was a small but very very special moment for Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, when his two-year-old lovey granddaughter Aaradhya wished his Happy Birthday, early this morning. Big B was literally on top of the world, by this little innocent gesture.
We hear that baby doll Aaradhya first sang the Birthday song to herself, not knowing that it’s her dadaji’s birthday.
Proud granddad wrote on his blog today: “the ‘little one’ ably tutored sings a ‘happy birthday’ to herself first and then after suitable prompting, to me … its these little moments that make up a birthday… the bigger moments follow.”
Big B shared the cute moment with his grand-daughter on his blog. He wrote, “A strange calmness descends on the eve of the clock that strikes 12 midnight .. the family, the few that are in town, bring in the greetings, the ‘little one’ ably tutored sings a ‘happy birthday’ to herself first and then after suitable prompting, to me … its these little moments that make up a birthday .. the bigger moments follow .. the gifts of love and affection from the Ef, from those that we know and cannot see or meet, from people on the streets as you pass by, from the crew on the set, from those that have lived and worked with me through the ages.”
He also thanked everyone for the wishes and gifts he received. “It cannot be any better than the presence of the heavens about me .. my well wishers .. they go through so much personal effort to prepare that personalised card that touch of handicraft, a little something, so thoughtfully put together … the most expensive diamond in the world would not compare with this .. and I thank the english language for constructing this expression of ‘thank you’ or my own tongue in the gentleness of a ‘anek anek dhanyavaad’ .”
Well, unlike his 70th birthday, Amitabh Bachchan is not very keen on celebrating his day, this year. However, with Beti B’s wishes, the superstar’s day is already made.
He added on his blog, “It is 71 now … just last year or just the other day it was 70 ! The years seem to pass by faster now than they did before. There was a desire to push the pedal all along those early years , to mature, to become adult, to bring on greater age … now you depress the brakes pedal with equal effort, and hope to stem the slide as it were .. no not I, I accept the years the giving up on time, on age … it shall happen to us all .. that is the commonality of the process of life .. we are blessed, all of us …!!”
