Aamir Khan’s Peekay in legal soup

Even before the film could release, Peekay, starring Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma in lead roles, has got into trouble for hurting religious sentiments. An FIR has been lodged against the makers and cast of the movie for allegedly hurting religious sentiments during the shooting of the film in Chandni Chowk area.

Apparently, one of the scenes which was being shot in that area, had a man dressed as Lord Shiva, who was pulling a rickshaw in which two burqa-clad women were sitting.

“We lodged an FIR under section 295 A (injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religious of any class) and 153 A of Indian Penal Code (IPC) (promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language) against the actors,” said a police official.
