Kalki Koechlin’s take on her husband’s film The Lunchbox

While Anurag Kashyap is not a very happy man, as his film The Lunchbox did not make it to the Oscars, wife Kalki feels differently. She says, she doesn’t know whether to be happy or sad as she knows nothing about the film The Good Road.

Says Kalki, “I know nothing about the film, so I can’t comment on it’s selection for the awards. But I really I hope it’s a great film.”

Talking about her husband’s The Lunchbox, Kalki says she loved the film and is a huge fan of Irrfan Khan. She also enjoyed Nawazuddin Siddique and Nimrat Kaur’s performance. However, if given a chance, she would never play a housewife in real life. “I don’t think I would have been appropriate for the role because I don’t look like a housewife. I look like a firang. So I think it would be an unrealistic dream.”

When asked if she thinks that she is being stereotyped in films because of her looks, she said, “You have to fight those stereotypes. At least, I have to. That’s why I do some commercial film and some off beat films because I need to balance it out. If I do just dark, off beat films, then I will get stuck in a box.”
