Vishnu Wagh, the chairperson of the Entertainment Society of Goa, said that the Superstar Rajnikanth has been invited as the chief guest for the International Film Festival of India that is scheduled to be held in November.
“We have sent him an invite and are awaiting confirmation. It would be an honour to have him here,” Wagh told IANS. An added attraction to all the Rajni-fans is that the superstar may also inaugurate the festival this time.
The legend in Indian cinema, who is known for his larger than life roles, was last seen in the movie Enthiran. His clout is of such magnitude that even the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan dedicated a song from Chennai Express to him.
Enthiran starring Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, was also shot in Goa.
Wagh said that the ESG would be willing to wait until October-end for Rajinikanth to confirm his attendance at the inaugural, scheduled for Nov 20. The event, which is being held regularly in Goa since 2004, saw actor Akshay Kumar as the chief guest last year.
