The movie ‘Besharam’ with it’s release on 2nd October, started on a high, is now slipping at the box office at a much faster rate. Trade experts also had the same opinion. One of them said, “the movie had a good opening, but couldn’t retain the footfalls on the subsequent days”.
The film had a Wednesday release, hit 3600 screens in India and 700 screens overseas. Critics too weren’t particularly impressed with the movie and wrote that “with ‘Besharam’, Ranbir sinks to a low”.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh too had a similar opinion on Abhinav Singh Kashyap-directed film’s box office collection as an “epic disappointment”.
“‘Besharam’ (earnings on) Wednesday Rs.21.56 crore, Thursday Rs.7.13 crore, Friday Rs.5.68 crore, Saturday Rs.5.94 crore. Total is Rs.40.31 crore net. Epic disappointment!,” Adarsh posted on Twitter.
“First day was good, but second day onwards the performance of the film has drastically dropped. Even on weekend, I don’t see any improvement,” Puneet Sahay of Spice Cinemas revealed.
The movie which is co-produced by Himanshu Mehra, Sanjeev Gupta and Reliance Entertainment is in for a huge-disappointment. we feel that the movie will fade away from people memory sooner rather than later as we have seen Besharam Box-Office collections takes a dip in all parts of India. We hope Ranbir Kapoor starts reading his scripts before signing on the dotted lines.
