In his next film Welcome Back, director Anees Bazmee has roped in 6 item girls for one song. Initially, Huma Qureshi was supposed to do this song but she opted out because of date issues. Now, the director perhaps got dirty ideas and brought in 6 girls to do the song Main Babli Tu Bunty, Beech Hamare 20-20 in the movie starring John Abraham.
Talking about it, Anees says, “We thought the song worked better with a group of dancers. I discussed it with my music composer Anu Malik who was all for it. We re-recorded and shot the number this week with six dancers. One of them is Sambhavana Seth. There is another girl from New Zealand and one more foreigner. Then there are three chorus dancers from my choreographer Ganesh Acharya’s team. The six girls have whipped up truly interesting dance storm.”
When probed about why Huma Qureshi was dismissed, the director said “I read that she asked for too much money. This is just trying to sensationalize a non-issue. The reason she couldn’t do the number was the non-availability of suitable dates. Instead we got six dancers who not only knew how to shake a leg but also had no date issues.”
