Ajay Bahl, whose last movie B.A. Pass got much critical acclaim and eventually became a moderate commercial success, has signed a deal with the Bhatts to make another noir movie.
This movie chronicles the first month in the life of a a couple who migrate from Himachal Pradesh to Mumbai. It is said to be a dark tale of an urban nightmare.
Rajkumar Yadav, the talented actor, has been signed to play the male lead in this movie and Geetanjali Thapa would be playing his wife. Thapa, whose last movie Monsoon Shootout garnered massive acclaim, is a Sikkimese model.
“It is again a dark brooding study of urban dislocation. I’ll be exploring the not-too-pleasant experiences of this couple who come to Mumbai for a better life,” said the director Ajay Bahl, who is in Himachal Pradesh hunting for locations.
Now will he be able to make something equally good post B.A. Pass? As an answer to this, he says “To me it’s important to be doing the cinema that I believe in. I am glad I am working with Mr. Mahesh Bhatt. We share similar sensibilities. And I don’t think he has ever compromised with his creativity.”
