Ranbir Kapoor’s best movies till date. Happy Birthday Ranbir Kapoor!

It’s not even been 8 years since Ranbir Kapoor made his debut in Saawariya(directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali), and now he has firmly established himself as one of the most talented actors in the industry. Ranbir has already featured in around 15 films and there are few more in post-production period. His 2013 release, Rom-com Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, emerged as the fourth highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time and led The Economic Times to credit him as “the most bankable actor of his generation”. Now that his new movie Besharam is on the verge of release, we can’t help but present to you Ranbir Kapoor’s best movies till date.

The much-hyped film which was released alongside ‘Om Shanti Om‘ took a heavy beating at the box-office, but Ranbir’s performance was unanimously hailed as on the best performance by a newcomer. No doubt that he went over-board with the charm and giggles which were quite frequent in the duration of the movie. But facing the camera for the very first time, carrying the pressure of an illustrious family background, he did quite well.

Wake Up Sid

Wake Up Sid was just the third film of his career, Ranbir proved his versatility in a coming-of-age film. His boy-next-door looks, marvelous comic timing and the chemistry which he shared with a much senior actress Konkana Sen Sharma earned him his first Filmfare Best actor nomination. He lost out to none other than Amitabh Bachchan(Baa) in the popular category, but managed to win the critics awards.

We still remember the craze which followed the release of Rockstar(especially by his female fan followers). This movie was so different, he plays a role of a innocent guy called ‘Janardhan’ and how he turns into this very arrogant arrogant guy ‘Jordan’ after he shoots to limelight. Everything fell in the right places for Ranbir in this movie. There’s this scene where Ranbir walks into the canteen with an innocent face, convinced that he has his heart-broken by Heer – and the samosa dialogue follows. We just loved that part! Apart from that, Rockstar we believe was a flawed film, that worked partially, only because of Ranbir’s outstanding performance and A R Rahman’s brilliant music.

Rocket Singh: Salesman of the year

Arguably Rocket Singh: Salesman of the year is one of the finest films of his career so far, it was hard to spot Ranbir Kapoor in Rocket Singh – from start to finish it was only the character of Harpreet Singh Bedi – that pretty much sums up the acting range that this man possesses. Despite receiving praise from critics, the film failed to recover anything from the movie. In an 2010 interview with a news magazine, Ranbir Kapoor said that Rocket Singh was a movie that he “truly believed in”, and professed to being hugely disappointed by its commercial failure.

Ranbir Kapoor is extremely talented and promising. Not only is he endowed with good looks, he also has the right choice of scripts and fairs extremely well in every role. In Barfi he outdid himself, showed myriad of emotions without even uttering a single word. No doubt that this is one his best works of all time. We suggest everyone(even if you aren’t a Ranbir Kapoor) fan to not miss out on this one.

Feel free to post your own list of Ranbir’s best performances. Also, which is your favorite Ranbir Kapoor movie? Tell us all that and more in the comments section below.

You are all self-proclaimed established actors, really no talent just family comnnections and a lot of PR…

True. Most actors haven’t even been to drama school. They just do some sort of business studies, and then immediately join the industry. Talent is not GENETIC.
