Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan and actresses Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Parineeti Chopra, Rekha, Sridevi, Juhi Chawla, Madhuri Dixit, Rani Mukerji and Preity Zinta walked the ramp to pay tribute to late filmmaker Yash Chopra on his 81st birthday, in Mumbai, India, on September 27.

Shahrukh Khan said at the event: “I am the one actor who starred maximum in his (Yash Chopra’s) films from the time I joined to his last venture. I am lucky to have the opportunity to have worked with the most fearless filmmaker that the country will ever have.”

Remembering Yash Chopra, Katrina Kaif said: “A lot of people call Yash jee a ladies’ man, and I was thinking you can only be called a ladies’ man if the ladies actually love you and I think one of the reasons that all the ladies loved Yash jee was that he didn’t just judge a woman by her physicality or the way she looked. He really made an effort to know you and to figure out what kind of a person you were.”

Rekha shook a leg on the ramp along with leading actresses Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Rani Mukherji, Juhi Chawla, Preity Zinta, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma and Parineeti Chopra.

“I thank Yash Chopra from the bottom of my heart to present me in a beautiful manner in his films. We will miss you,” Rekha said.

“I miss you Yash uncle. I feel sorry I couldn’t make a cake for you on your last birthday as I was busy with other commitments. I miss you everyday,” a teary-eyed Rani said.
