Amish Tripathi’s The Immortals Of Meluha which was to be made into a film, will go on floors soon and our very own Ranbir Kapoor will play the titular role in the film. Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions had previously bought the rights for the book but the movie wasn’t made earlier because of other prior commitments.
Karan Johar had given the reins of making the movie to Ayan Mukerji, who convinced Ranbir to come on board. “Karan, Ayan and Ranbir have earlier worked together and the result was the megahit Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. The trio have been successful together before and there is no doubt this time will be any different. Ayan had informed Karan of his choice and he readily agreed to it. The star power of Ranbir Kapoor guarantees the success of the movie.
Ayan has already started working on the book to make it into a screenplay.” , a source was quoted by a tabloid.
Earlier, it was reported that the hunky Hrithik Roshan was to play the role of Shiva but Hrithik couldn’t give dates. Hrithik has now signed Shuddhi, which is also being produced under Karan Johar’s, Dharma Production.
The Immortals of Meluha is a fantasy novel by Amish Tripathi, it says gods were once humans whose actions made them to be respected as gods. It is the first book in a trilogy and it is followed by The Secret of The Nagas and The Oath of Vayuputras.
