Anurag Kashyap who is usually very active on the social networking site Twitter and known for often using the platform to voice his opinion; surprised many of his followers including us by announcing that he is deleting his account. Anurag tweeted on 23 September, “Bye bye twitter.. Enough feeding the wannabe journals..(sic).”
A few days ago, the director had expressed anger over Film Federation Of India for not selecting The Lunchbox as India’s official entry for Oscars. Anurag Kashyap is a co-producer of the film which has garnered a lot of critical acclaim and was a favourite amongst many for this year’s entry for Oscars. A Gujarati film called The Good Road was selected by the federation ultimately.
Anurag had tweeted, “Feeling very, very disappointed, can’t comment on the film I have not seen, but it better make it to final five… I hope and pray I am wrong and it actually is a film that knocks the socks off everyone (sic)”
Kashyap had further tweeted, “”I dont know who the federation is.but it goes to show, why we completely lack the understanding to make films that can travel across borders.(sic)”
Looks like we’re not gonna get any updates from the radical filmmaker directly…
