A Mumbai sessions court framed charges against the Maine Pyaar Kiya actor on July 24, 2013; this is after certain activists’ appeals in the court against the actor. Earlier, Salman Khan was charged with a lesser offence of causing death by rash and negligent driving, which would have carried a maximum punishment of only two years in jail.
A Mumbai sessions court on Tuesday heard three applications by activists in the 2002 hit and run case involving actor Salman Khan.
While the media reported the incident with an unfair-vein towards Salman Khan, the court orally directed the media not to give out biased and unfair reports.
While hearing activist Santosh Daundkar’s plea to transfer false evidence case from Bandra to the sessions court, the court said it did not have suo moto powers to transfer the case. On Activist Abha Singh’s plea to assist the Public Prosecutor the court said it could be considered only at the final arguments stage.
