3 Idiots star Sharman Joshi likes to maintain a low profile when he is not doing any film and says he is not comfortable discussing about his life unnecessarily.
“I am a private person. I understand people want to know more about me at some point. I feel the best and the most appropriate time for that is when I am out promoting a film, or at some cause. That is the time I like to talk. But apart from that I do not see the need for it.” Sharman said.
Sharman will be seen next in comedy War Chod Na Yaar after his last year’s laugh riot Ferrari Ki Sawaari.
“War Chod Na Yaar is basically about the Indian and Pakistani soldiers at the border during the peace time, their casual relationship. It is a war comedy. It is a first of its kind in terms of the genre. In Indian cinema we have never done this kind of comedy, so that is a USP,” he said.
Directed by debut filmmaker Faraz Haider, who has assisted Dibakar Banerjee on Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, the film will hit theatres on October 11.
Sharman who is playing the role of an Indian Army Captain, says he has not done any research for the character.
Sharman will star opposite his Rang De Basanti co-star Soha Ali Khan, who is playing a war correspondent in the film. The film also stars Javed Jaffery and Sanjay Mishra in pivotal roles.
Sharman tasted success first time with commercial film Style and after that he did many comedies like Xcuse Me and Shaadi No 1. But he does not have any qualms about starring in comedies.
“After Style, I got plenty of offers in that line. I decided I will not get bogged down by any perception. As an actor I am going to do my job and enjoy my journey. I got mostly comedy offers but some of them were good,” he said.
The actor feels his last film Ferrari Ki Sawaari was pivotal to him as he is bagging solo projects after the film.
“Ferrari Ki Sawaari has contributed hugely in this regard, it has been a game changer for me. I would own to all Vidhu Vinod chopra who saw such talent in me and nothing else. Doing a movie with the brand they are and the project being successful and me getting more offers, that is the game changer,” he said.
