The entire team of the runaway hit, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, director Rajkumar Santoshi, composer Pritam Chakraborthy and lyricist Irshad Kamil have come together again to recreate the same magic once again. This time, its another heartthrob of bollywood Shahid Kapoor, along with promising actress Ileana D’Cruz (Cocktail) for the romantic comedy drama, Phata Poster Nikla Hero. Expectations are bound to be massive from the album, especially because it is a Tips venture, and they have always delivered chart-busting and memorable music. We can’t wait to presents to you the music review of Phata Poster Nikla Hero
Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai
It’s Mika Sing who sets the pace with this sweet and lovely rhythmic prepositioning number. It’s indeed a great track what would be loved by almost anyone. Due to it’s nice Goan style tune, which is a mixture of lovely retro as well as contemporary music arrangements and Mika’s trademark ‘tapori’ style performance. Lyrics are superb and the induction of humorous ‘Mumbai’ lingo is the USP of the track.
Main Rang Sharbaton Ka
Pritam’s trusted and ever dependable Atif Aslam along with Chinmayee Sreepada deliver the lovely track, ‘Main Rang Sharbaton Ka’, and they are both just superb as they sing well in tandem. We just could’t get enough of this song and hence put it on repeat for one entire day!
Hey Mr. DJ
Benny Dayal, Shefali Alvaris and Shalmali Kholgode get together and groove to the funky, racy dance number. The addictive chorus(Let’s Go Bananas) of the track is the USP of the song. The track would be loved by the youths and kids as well, and would look great on screen when a dancer of the caliber of Shahid grooves to its infectious rhythm.
Nakash Azi & Neha Kakkad have written this track, it has a Marathi flavor along with some North ‘masala’ thrown in. This song also features the hot and sexy, Nargis Fakhri. It’s a fun dance number which also has a nonstop racy rhythm and also a glimpse of ‘dhol’, ‘taasge’, whistles and trumpets thrown in to spice up the track even more.
‘Janam Janam’ was sung by the elegant Sunidhi Chauhan. She sure sets the track on fire with her impeccable voice. In fact it’s the better of the two as the original was picturised as a romantic number, while this version, with very minimal musical arrangements is composed more like a song dedicated to the mother.
Mere Bina Tu
Rahat Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is simply outstanding, especially in the higher octaves and Harshdeep gives good support too Although her husky vocals fail to complement Rahat, and one would automatically feel that Shreya would have been a better choice. Lyrics too are apt and would certainly be identified by the young Gen who falls in and out of love quite frequently.
To sum up the entire album(few remixes as well) has fared quite well considering the fact that it had a huge amount of expectations from everyone. Our pick – Atif’s ‘Main Rang Sharbaton Ka’ and Rahat’s ‘Mere Bina’. The chart busting music would definitely be a plus point, and as always provide the Tips venture with the necessary propellant needed for a good opening when the film releases all over on 20th September!
