Ileana D’Cruz and her journey from South to North

It wasn’t her dream profession. She didn’t even think that one day she would be one of the most successful heroines in Tollywood and make her way to the most coveted place – B-town! A world of glitz and glamour wasn’t what Illean would dream of at nights.

Ileana D’Cruz was a very simple girl with a vibrant smile. She was born in Mumbai and raised in Goa by her mother who worked in a hotel. Her mother’s manager noticed her vibrant smile and said she would make a very pretty actress one day. Though Ileana was a little hesitant in the start, with her mothers coaxing she made her first portfolio in 2003. Well first time isn’t always the very best. Ileana termed her first portfolio as a disaster but offers kept coming in. She appeared on my fashion shows and by the end of the year she had bagged 3 commercials.

It was in 2006 when she made her debut as an actress in Tollywood with Devadasu. Again, it was her first movie and Ileana felt very pressurized. She didn’t want to go through the project but did because of her mothers encouragement. She put on her tough face and worked very hard. The movie turned out to be the biggest hit of 2006 and Ileana’s beauty and hard work were praised both by the audience and the critics. She went on to do many movies and got used to the pressure she was facing. Pressure and stress became her best friends and she gave hits after hits like Kick, Munna and Shakti. Her best performance was Pokiri alongside the heartthrob of Tollywood, Mahesh Babu. The movie as expected was the highest grosser that year.

She made her debut in Bollywood with Barfi! alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. The movie got her positives reviews and Ileana D’cruz set her mark in Bollywood. After the release of Barfi! she got a lot of endorsements and movie offers. She is currently waiting for the release of Phata Poster Nikla Hero where she is paired opposite Shahid Kapoor
