Vivek Oberoi has high hopes on Krrish 3. His super baddie look in Krrish 3 has been kept a secret so far but the actor, whose recent movies haven’t been successful, is confident that the role will give his career a boost.
“It’s once in a life time character. He is a super villain and an aristocratic prince of darkness. He hates human race because he is not accepted in the society. His vengeance is so strong that he has created his own universe to fight against them. It’s one of the scariest baddies onscreen,” Vivek told PTI in an interview.
The Masti actor said portraying a dark role was easy for him because he feels his edgy roles in films like ‘Company’ and ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’ were much appreciated by the audiences. “I enjoy doing such characters. I am constantly looking for roles which are new for me and challenging to do. With ‘Krish 3′ I jumped at it. I was very impressed with the script and character,” said Vivek, who was here to support a cause for underprivileged girls in Vrindavan.
Vivek’s character’s look and mannerisms were designed by himself and he chose not to watch any sci-fi film to ensure originality. “I wanted to stay away from taking any inspiration from other films because I felt there will be no originality. It is a tricky character. Rakesh uncle gave me enough space to experiment with my role. It’s my interpretation right from its costume to mannerism,” he said.
The third movie of the superhero franchaise will begin with Vivek and the actor recalls his nervousness before the shoot. “I was super nervous when I heard that I will give the first shot of the film. I didn’t sleep the night before and went to the set without my breakfast. I kept thinking how it would be. When I gave the first shot, my whole unit including Hrithik and Rakesh uncle hugged me after a brief silence,” he said.
The ‘Kyun? Hogaya na…‘ star said he didn’t take up any other film before the release of Krrish 3 as he wants to see how audience react to his role. “I am intentionally not doing any film before Krrish 3 releases. I am not signing anything at this point. I hope my career will change after this film. I will get right roles with good directors. I have been in the industry for a decade and did 35 films. But now I want to wait and do right roles,” he added.
