This week, box office will witness the release of the sequel of the 2004 sex comedy Masti. Named as Grand Masti, the movie stars Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani and Riteish Deshmukh in the same roles.
The first trailer of the film came out on July 17th and it surely raised many eye-brows for it’s ridiculously filled double-meaning dialogues. Masti was a hit for it’s freshness and something which hasn’t been done in Bollywood for a long time. But the sequel has arrived without any sort of originality. The dialogues, jokes and scenes are mostly copied from other films and even the plot is said to be ‘highly inspired’ (as our filmmakers would suggest) from the English sex-comedy flick American Reunion from the American Pie series.
The movie’s plot vastly revolves around three married guys Vivek Oberoi as Meet, Aftab Shivdasani as Prem and Riteish Deshmukh as Amar as they go out on a fun experience in their college reunion in Shree Lalchand University of Technology and Science, finally to be trapped in a danger. Danger being infidelity in one of the most vulgar ways. The trailer has a few scenes which are completely outrageous and are certainly not for kids! Every dialogue seems to have a meaning inclined towards the vulgar side. Hell! Even it’s songs are filled with double-meaning lyrics. Anand Raj Anand seems to have lost his touch since a couple of years now as the music is mediocre at best.
Will it be an overdose for many of us who are looking for entertainment rather than just creepy jokes? Or will it be a perfect blend of entertainment and masti?
Let us know if you can’t wait to watch the flick because we can’t wait to listen from you!
