Pining that nobody in the industry cares about him, Shakti Kapoor is said to have been euphoric upon hearing that the cult classic Andaz Apna Apna is going to be remade by Rajkumar Santoshi. Lamenting about the lack of roles coming his way, Shakti said gloomily that it’s all been downhill for him ever since Govinda stopped being a mainstream actor.
With the new Andaz Apna Apna movie though, Shakti believes he can once again become relevant.
Last in the news in a casting couch scandal, the only spark in Shakti’s Bollywood life has been his daughter, Shraddha Kapoor breaking through as a promising debutant. Yet, it is screen time that he wishes for most.
Shakti is ecstatic at this development and is already preparing to reprise the iconic role. He is said to have bought a black eye mask, cape and a red cummerbund and is practicing for the role by jumping out at passersby from behind a tree. When Aditya Roy Kapoor, the actor who is not dating Shraddha Kapoor, came by, Shakti apparently took him aside and warned him against hurting his daughter otherwise, “Aankhen nikaal ke gotiyaan kheloonga.”
The neighbourhood kids have been giving him hell though. Whenever Shakti tries to talk to the struggling actress who lives in the same society, they creep up behind him and say, “Aap to purush hi nahin hai!” and walk away laughing hysterically.
Still, Shakti happily endures all this. He has always believed Crime Master Gogo to be the greatest role he has ever played and the fact that so many people seem to remember his dialogues is giving him hope. He declined answering any further questions saying he had to meet Paresh Rawal and begin practicing his lines.
