You like the music of old Zanjeer or the new Zanjeer?

So, we have already pitted the characters of Zanjeer 1973 and Zanjeer 2013. Why not compare the music as well? The old Zajeer as we may call it now, had about 5 songs. One dance-item number where Bindu twirled around. One amazing qawwali shared by Amitabh Bachchan and Parn. Then there was a romantic song and then a song which introduced Mala and last but not the least a sad song. Back in the day I guess sad songs were must!

Mumbai Ke Hero

Seems to me like the sad song was replaced by Mumbai Ka Hero and this looks like the song which will be played during the closing credits. Good thing the makers of Zanjeer 2013 did not opt for a sad song. We don’t want any more sadness than we already have.

Well here’s your introductory song where Priyanka Chopra entertains the audience with a sexy number. Pinky is not really like Chaku Churiyan from the old Zanjeer but its catchy and entertaining. We like!

Lamha Tera Mera

Lamha Tera Mera seems like the romantic number. Well, its a really nice song and if you look at it, all the romantic songs these days are similar. But then that song from old Zanjeer, Deewane Hai Deewano Ko, will forever have my heart. Nothing can replace it, not even the sweet chemistry between Ram Charan and Priyanka. I do agree that singers Wajhi Farooki and Palak Muchhal did a great job, but that was Mohammed Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar.

Khochey Pathan Ki Zubaan

The qawaali from the old Zanjeer, Yaari Hai Imaan Mera, is my favorite, and to be honest, I wouldn’t want to compare both the songs but Sanjay Dutt did a fairly good job in this song. Hats off to Sukhwinder Singh, Shabab Sabri and Meet Bros Anjjan for singing the song beautifully.

Hearing these lines Zindagi mai, zindagi ka, phir lele maza  These line have the exact same tune as Dil jalo na, dil jalake, kya milega dilruba? We are already loving this song! And Mahie Gill did not disappoint us. Her theatrics in the song were perfect.
