They were last seen together in the 1981 hit flick Silsila. And now, what hasn’t happened for more than three decades in Bollywood might just happen, credit: Anees Bazmee. Well, alleged ex-lovers Amitabh and Rekha are set to scorch the silver screen yet again.
The makers of Welcome Back, a sequel to the original 2007 hit,’Welcome’, are rumored to have already roped in Big B to play the role of RDX, which was essayed by Feroz Khan in ‘Welcome’. Now, they are in talks with Rekha to play the role of a wealthy fashionista, who will have a love angle between Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor’s character.
Welcome Back has a huge star cast including John Abraham, Shruti Haasan, Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor. However, the rest are yet to be finalized.
“We are considering Rekhaji for a role which will have love angle between Nana and Anil. But it is too early to talk about all this as nothing is decided and confirmed. As there are three-four veteran actresses that we are thinking of it all depends if they like it or not, their dates and money issues,” Bazmee is quoted as saying.
“I am a huge fan of Rekhaji. I wanted to work with her. I feel since it’s a comedy film, Rekhaji will do justice to her part as she has a superb comic timing,” adds the filmmaker.
While Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor will be reprising their roles in Welcome Back, John Abraham and Shruti Hassan are the new additions. The film is expected to go on floors in a month’s time.
