Seems like John Abraham has hit jackpot once again! His latest movie, Madras Cafe did exceptionally well at the box office. The movie had a stiff competition with the multi-starrer Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara and Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Chennai Express.
Though the movie had a poor opening at the box office, it did exceptionally well at the box office over the weekend. The movie was made on a budget of 35 crore and seems like its recovering most of its investment. On the first weekend, the movie made a net amount of 21 crores but the earning dropped on Monday and went up the following days. The movie earned approximately around Rs 13.14 crores on weekdays and a total amount of Rs 34.15 crores over all. The break down would be Rs 5.23 cr on Friday, Rs 7.18 cr on Saturday and Rs 8.60 cr on Sunday. Then on Monday it hit a all time low and earned Rs 3.05 cr and then Rs 3.14 cr on Tuesday, Rs 3.80 cr on Wednesday and finally Rs 3.15 cr on Thursday. Two wees combined, the movie managed to earn an approxmiate amount of 50 cr at the domestic box office.
The movie once again will have another stiff competition this weekend owning to the release of the much anticipated Satyagraha starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai and Amrita Rao.
