How to achieve Nargis Fakhri’s look

With Madras Cafe releasing this week and the promotions in full swing Nargis Fakhri has been getting a lot of attention and with lot of attention comes greater scrutiny. This is the time where one slip can cost Miss Fakhri dearly and bring her under Fashion Polices’ Radar. Yeah, haters will hate but fans too will start questioning their judgement. But then again, this beauty doesn’t make any mistake nor does she has had any slips. Nargis Fakhri stands tall and looks perfect.

There have been a lot of speculations regarding her role in the upcoming movie. Although she plays a journalist she isn’t playing a war journalist nor is she your fancy weather report girl. Nevertheless, she has still got that tough ‘I am a journalist’ look, which she’s rocking with panache. But then again there are also rumors about her look being the natural kinds sans makeup. Could it be true? Hell no!!! There has never been an actress in my opinion who would be comfortable without makeup in front of the camera. There is just too much scrutiny and judgement around to be comfortable. Looking at her at various promotional events looks like Miss Fakhri has gone for a natural dewy look with neutral/nude undertones.

Nargis is naturally blessed with a healthy skin, thanks to her routine of cleansing, toning and moisturizing regardless of the season and drinking plenty of water. No makeup does involve a lot of makeup recreating which is not that difficult. Always prep your skin by applying a good moisturizer.
Products : To achieve that dewy complexion I guess her MUA must have used a foundation with a very sheer coverage. Those willing to splurge can invest in something like YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat or the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua and a good drug store substitute would be Rimmel’s Wake Me Up or Loreal’s Dream Lumi.
Application : You can apply these either with a sponge or a brush. Easiest would be to blend it with the fingers for a more natural look.

At a glance, you would be sure she’s not wearing any make up at all. But if you look closely you’ll realize, she is definitely wearing something. Nargis always makes sure that her eye shadow shades match the clothes that she’s wearing. From neutrals to nudes to pastels she limits herself to these not so noticeable or shimmery shades. She also uses lots of mascara and rarely ever uses false lashes.
Products : You could use any neutral eye shades by MAC. Folie or Soba would best suit this look. Apply Folie or Soba all over the lid and then line the upper lash line with a good liner. Blacktrack by MAC would be the perfect gel liner. And then smudge the liner with a black eye shadow. You will also need a brown liner for the lower lash line. Then whack loads of mascara. You can use the Falsies mascara by Maybelline or Baby Doll by YSL.
Application : If you have thin eyebrows, you can start by filling them in and giving them the required shape. The best products would be Stud or Spiked by MAC depending on your complexion. For applying the eye shadow on the lid you can either use a MAC 213 or 217. Then start by applying a very thin line of MAC gel eyeliner and smudge the black eye shadow. The brown liner goes under your lower lash line with the base of your eye shadow smudged on the outer corner of the lower lash line. Then lots and lots of mascara to complete your eyes.

Nargis is always glowing! Beaming with happiness. But for the unlucky lot like us, we can use amazing products and fake the natural glow.
Products : For a natural look you can opt for the Peaches blush by MAC and to contour and accentuate your features you can contour your cheeks and jawline by the Hollow Cream Pigment by Illamasqua.
Application : Start by applying peaches with the Real Techniques Blush Brush or MAC 129. Then you can use the large angled contour brush number 168 by MAC to contour your face

Nargis always uses lipsticks/tints/glosses in shades of basic browns. Opt of shades which will give you a basic finish. If you are wearing something pink, go with the most neutral shade of pink and same goes if you are wearing something in brown. I personally love the 04 Romantic by N7
