Prakash Jha seems to be very good at guarding secrets. He has been concealing the fact that ‘Satygraha’ is the ‘Rajneeti 2’ for almost a year and now when the movie is about to get released in 10 days he unveiled the hidden truth. ‘Satyagraha’ can be considered as a part of the ‘Rajneeti’ trilogy as the shoot for the third part will soon take off.
A source said, “This was always on the anvil but making an early revelation would have diverted the focus from what Satyagraha actually intends to tell. The very mention of Raajneeti would have taken the entire course of marketing and promotion in an altogether different direction and it was felt by all that this was best avoided. Why to piggyback on the trilogy factor when you have so much to tell as a standalone film?”
The plot for ‘Satyagraha’ is designed in such a way that even if it’s based on Anna Hazare, it has the theme of Rajneeti although in a different setting.
Prakash Jha, who kept his lips stitched all this while said, “In both the films, the intricacies of relationships form the key aspect of the plot that is set against the backdrop of politics and corruption. My immediate next will be the third installment of my Raajneeti trilogy and will explore the similar theme.”
There are actually a few factors in common between ‘Rajneeti’ and ‘Satyagraha’. Apart from the fact that both the movies feature Ajay Devgn, Arjun Rampal and Manoj Bajpayee in principle roles, they also have Anjum Rajabali as the writer.
