Finally, the much awaited movie “Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Doobara” released today. With it’s prequel being a run away hit, OUTIMD had an uphill task. The story was a bit difficult to predict; no presumption could be hailed righteous except one which said that it is a love triangle and it sure is. A lot was expected from the movie, the OUTIMD team had left no stone unturned to market and promote the movie.
Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Doobara is a classic 80’s film when gangsters were the heroes. OUATIMD is the next chapter in gangster Shoaib’s (Akshay Kumar, earlier played by Emraan Hashmi) life that now sees him as the undisputed kingpin of Mumbai. Shoaib, who continues to be a ladies man, a young starlet Jasmine (Sonakshi Sinha) catches his eye. Unfortunately, Shoaib’s protégé Aslam (Imran Khan) finds himself in love with his boss’s girl and the classic love triangle struggle is the end result!
The direction of Milan Luthria in this movie is brilliant! With the classic 80s era theme, a lot of time was spent in making this movie and it showed! The music didn’t disappoint either it had all the right ingredients to keep the film going. The performances are wholly fresh and entertaining. Akshay Kumar simply silences the theater halls with his charming lines and villainous presence.
‘Agar main hero ban gaya to meri pehchan bura maan jayegi!’. Such one-liner dialogues compliment the 80’s era when gangsters used to be filmy. The one-liners are a plenty in this movie which won’t disappoint you.
Akshay Kumar who plays the role of a villain, carries off this role with ease and with his heavy one-liners made the crowd go mad! Then there is Imran Khan, who had it all going right with the role he played. Imran and Akshay had quite a few action scenes together and their combo worked very well. Sonakshi who plays a role of a budding actor in the film, made the crowd go berserk! she carried off her role with elegance! All the three actors did their role justice!
If anything is to go by, ‘Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara!’ is sure to keep boredom at bay. Even though it drags in parts, it’s strong dialogues and the music which is worth praising will keep boredom at bay. As Imran Khan’s character would put it – ‘Yeh movie dekh le, phir thak le aur vatak le.’
