Manoj Bajpayee who showered abuse words in ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ will now have to get a hold on his tongue in ‘Satyagraha’. To be frank, real life politicians use words like “ch**tiya” very often but that isn’t potrayed in ‘Satyagraha’ since it is meant to be a family movie.
The censor board will mark off movies which has a frequent use of cuss-words with an “A” certificate. A young filmaker recently said, “I was offered an Adults Only certificate as my characters used Hindi expletives extensively. But I was told that I’d have to reduce the number of gaalis by one-third. If the characters use ‘ch..tiya’ 7 times, I can have it 3 times, and so on. It didn’t make any sense. How can one ‘ch…tiya’ be different from another?”
The recent censorial crap is to ask the director of ‘Satyagraha’ to remove the “ch**tiya” word used by Manoj Bajpayee. But that didn’t affect Prakash Jha since he had an another word ready. He changed the word at that time itself and came out with a ‘U/A’ certificate for his upcoming movie Satyagraha. The director would have been allowed to use that word if he had agreed for an ‘A’ certificate.
Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Matru Ke Bijlee Ka Mandola’ had Pankaj Kapoor saying abusive words after every sentence. That was given ‘U/A’ certificate. Strange!
