Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone must be flying high in success already over their latest flick Chennai Express’ success at the box office. The film set new records in India and UK for Thursday’s paid previews and has broken a new record on it’s Eid release.
After an unbelievable start on August 8th, the movie opened to packed screens on Friday. The movie minted a humongous amount of Rs 33.12 crores making it the biggest ever opening for any Bollywood movie yet!
Shahrukh has finally broken Salman Khan’s record of Rs 30.72 which Ek Tha Tiger brought in and so much for a co-incidence, Salman had set that record last Eid.
Shahrukh Khan is obviously on cloud nine with the super opening of Chennai Express.
“I can’t stop smiling. Till the time I don’t stop smiling, the excitement won’t settle down,” Shahrukh said on Friday.
Chennai Express, as we reported earlier is not only doing great in India but has been racing towards new records abroad as well. The film raked in 258,598 pounds on Friday. If we add the Thursday and Friday collections, the figure rises upto Rs 39.87 crores which is huge for any film. We won’t be surprised if it crosses 100 crores in the next three days.
