Bollyood Badshaah Shahrukh Khan will be excited with his new flick Chennai Express hitting the screens this Friday and has been busy promoting it all over the country. When he was in Punjab, he said he was completely bowled over by their hospitality and carefree nature of the community.
At Jalandhar yesterday, Shahrukh along with his beautiful co-star Deepika Padukone were present promoting the film while SRK admitted that whenever he’s in Punjab, he gains weight.
“I always gain weight when I am shooting in Punjab, as the people here are fond of rich food. Punjabi hospitality simply has no parallel,” he added.

Shah Rukh Khan also touched upon the carefree nature of the Punjabi community, saying they are full of life.
“I like Punjab very much, I love its food, its people, music and its green fields,” he said.
The superstar also spoke about their rich culture and also that most of the Bollywood movies have a Punjabi flavour. Deepika who was dressed in an orange Anarkali suit, performed on the stage with the superstar for their fans.
When asked about the movie, he said, ”It is a great fun film, the kind I haven’t done before and I promise it will be a great ride.”
At a similar promotional event in Gurgaon, when Shahrukh and Deepika were exchanging gifts, the actress received a soft toy from the megastar and just when Deepika could think of giving Shahrukh something, a fan suggested, “give him a kiss na”, to which Deepika responded saying, “That I give him every day. When you’ll watch my film, you’ll see me gifting him my bakwas dictionary. But that happens in reel life. In reality, I think, he has everything. So all that I can give him is just love and happiness.”
