Bruna Abdhullah who will be seen playing the lead role in Grand Masti which is a sequel to Masti says she waited a long time to learn Hindi before signing up for a prominent role in Bollywood.
The 26-year old sizzling actress made her Bollywood debut with ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ but shot to stardom with her song Subha Hone Na De from Desi Boyz.
“I though it would be unfair to do Bollywood movies without learning Hindi language. There was a language barrier for me. In such a situation when you do a movie, you just be a prop on the side somewhere. So that is why I did not do any movies for a while,” Bruna said.
“Grand Masti” is slated to hit theatres on September 13.
Bruna Abdullah is paired opposite Riteish Deshmukh in the sequel and her character is very similar to Genelia
D’Souza’s role in the first installment. She watched the first part and was surprised to see how easily Genelia played a role which is exactly the opposite of her in real life. Genelia helped Bruna to get familiar with Riteish Deshmukh and made it all the way easy for her.
“Genelia is such a cool girl. She used to come on sets with Riteish. Her role was so opposite to her nature,” she said.
Bruna bagged the offer to star in the multi-starrer after going through an audition.”It was really nice because usually you do not audition in Bollywood. You either know somebody or suggested by someone. So I was really excited that I actually had an audition,”
Asked if she is open for item numbers in the future, she said, “I have got some offers and if I like the song, I am definitely going to do it. I do not see a problem why I would not do it.”
