This week, we saw the release of three movies and all of ’em failed to impress the audience. Issaq started off being a light-hearted love story and diverted it’s plot towards bloodshed and naxalites. Bajatey Raho was just below average and it was always expected to run only in the north. Poonam Pandey finally made her debut with Nasha but even she failed to garner much audience.
To start with Issaq, it made lesser money than Nasha over the weekend and this was unexpected. Issaq was supposed to be the highest grossing film among these three but the audience made it look otherwise. It opened with 1.16 crores on Friday and picked up by 1.25 crores and 1.50 crores on Saturday and Sunday respectively. With a total weekend collection of 3.91 crores, the movie certainly looks to pace up in the weekdays.
Bajatey Raho is a comic flick which has a punjabi/dilli flavour to it. The movie did good business in the north and only in the north. A couple of good actors in Vinay Pathak and Ranvir Shorey got a below average collection for the movie as it opened with 1.52 crores on Friday, 1.65 on Saturday and dropped to 1.50 crores on Sunday. The weekdays don’t look so good for the film but let’s just wait and see!
Nasha was much-hyped with all the publicity Poonam Pandey garnered and her oh-so-million fans on social media. But those fans couldn’t really give her the big-break in the box office collections. The movie got mixed reviews but the upcoming week doesn’t look so productive for the makers anyway. Here’s how the movie did in on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively – 1.52 crores, 1.68 crores, 1.02 crores.
