Shahrukh Khan’s Chennai Express to enter the Oscars?

So we all know Academy awards are the biggest thing in showbiz. Last year commercially hit Barfi! starring Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor was nominated as India’s official entry for Best Foreign Language Film. Will Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s Chennai Express also make it all the way to the Oscars?

It is quite possible! The Film Federation of India’s (FFI) selects movies which have been commercially released in India between October 1, 2012 and September 30, 2013 to the send them to the Oscars. Coincidentally, Shahrukh’s Chennai Express is releasing on August 9 which makes the movie eligible for Oscars in the Best Foreign Language Film category. There is a possibility after all!

But then again, there is Imran Khan and Akshay Kumar starter Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Dobaara also to be considered for the position. Which movie will make it? Only time will tell! I’m sure if either of the movies will win, but if Sridevi’s English Vinglish is to be nominated, it will certainly bag few awards!

But what about hit movies like Salman Khan’s Dabangg 2 and Aamir Khan’s Talaash? Will they make it? Guess no, cause they don’t fit into the criteria. But anyway, Aamir Khan is above all this and he just wants to make good movies, where as Sallu Bhai, he loves to entertain the audience.
