Legendary actor Pran Krishan Sikand passed away on Friday due to prolonged illness. The veteran had mastered the art of ‘acting’ and could easily be determined as one of the greatest actors in the Bollywood industry. He passed away at the Lilavati hospital in Mumbai where he was undergoing treatment.
The actor was famous for his negative roles and supporting roles but he was so versatile that he could play the ‘good guy’ in any movie and carry it with confidence. His ‘negative role’ image never effected his career and he could perform any character with perfection.
“He passed away at around 8.30 pm. His cremation will take place tomorrow (Saturday) at 12 pm at Shivaji park,” his son Sunil.
Pran was admitted in the Lilavati hospital after complaining of breathing problems on May 30. He had been in and out of the hospital due to his respiratory problems and the doctor also said he had many other problems including extensive pneumonia, chronic kidney diseases, Parkinson’s, COPD and sepsis. He was living on ventilator and gave up at around 8:30pm on Friday.
Pran has been known for his remarkable roles in Bollywood films like Zanjeer, Don, Amar Akbar Anthony, among hundreds others.
Pran remains in our hearts for his exceptional roles in movies like Don, Amar Akbar Anthony and Zanjeer among many other movies where he showed his mettle. This legend has been a recipient of the country’s biggest cinema honour – Dada Saheb Phalke award in April.
Pran will never be forgotten as the most unique villain as he brought a complete different essence compared to all others. We could say, he ruled the Bollywood industry from 1969 to 1982. He could be the most hated villain and suddenly in his next movie he could also be the most beloved character. Such was his versatality.
