Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s co-production “Fukrey” has an ensemble cast of young actors who are one or two films old and Farhan feels the script demanded a ‘fresh cast’.
Directed by Mrigdeep Singh Lamba, the film features Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh, Varun Sharma, Ali Faisal, Richa Chadda, Vishakha Singh and Priya Anand.
“Every story has its demand so we felt that if we would take a fresh cast for this film so that when you will watch the film there would be no pre-conceived notion, image or idea in your mind, that was crucial for us which is why we thought to have an interesting new cast,” Farhan said here Wednesday during the launch of the song “Karle Jugaad” from the film.
Meanwhile, praising Mrigdeep’s sense of humour, Farhan said that the director has done full justice to the film’s script, written by Vipul Vig.
“Mrigdeep’s sense of homour is very individual. Its not something I have heard or seen before, so that was exciting to do. I an happy that the situations and dialogues which I have read in the script have translated very well in the film,” Farhan said.
“Fukrey” is slated for release June 14.
