Monday Bollywood Box office report – May 13

Box office saw two new releases last week. Illuminati’s Go Goa Gone which gave the audiences a new high and Gippi of Dharma Productions which revolved around the lives of teenagers.

Go Goa gone starring Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Khemu, Vir Das and Puja Gupta was made on a a massive budget of 16cr and managed to earn a total of 8.05 crores on Friday and Saturday. It earned close to 5.25 Crores at the Box Office on Sunday making a total of 13.30 Crores on its opening weekend.

Gippi which was made on a small budget managed to earn a total of 75lacs on the first day of it’s opening. The makers of the movie are happy with the response and are positive that the earings will increase over the weekends. The movie marked the debut of Riya Vij, a 13 year old teenager hailing from Delhi.

In the meanwhile, Sanjay Gupta’s Shootout at Wadala beat the records of Mohit Suri’s Aashiqui 2 which had earned 54.50 Crores in 10 days. Shootout at Wadala made a business of 55.75 Crores so far and will eventually beat the record of movies like Himmatwala and ABCD – Any Body Can Dance.
