Apex court dismisses Sanjay’s plea

The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt’s plea seeking review of its judgement on his conviction and five-year jail term. Sanjay Dutt now has to surrender by May 16.

Earlier, he had got four more weeks to surrender following his conviction under the Arms Act in the 1993 Mumbai bombings case.

The apex court had pronounced its order March 21. While upholding Dutt’s conviction under the Arms Act for possessing illegal arms, the court reduced his sentence from six to five years Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt.
