The Bollywood Fashion Files

Fashion and Bollywood are inseparable. Whether its something super expensive that we ordinary folk may never afford or a trend that takes every college by storm, Bollywood’s fashion impact is huge. Here’s a list of fashionable things we’re (still?) talking about at the Celebden office!

Christian Louboutin Loafers

Bollywood star Amithabh-Bachchan
Big B stood stepped out at the world premiere of The Great Gatsby, wearing one of Christian Louboutin’s creation: ‘Mikaraja’ loafers. Though we aren’t really able to feel the look, the superstar definitely stood out. You either love it or hate it but you can’t ignore it. Cost: $2,095 (Rs.113,423)

Palazzos

Kiran-Rao
It’s summer time and nothing better than a loose and comfy outfit, to beat the heat. Spotted was Kiran Rao in tangerine palazzos and a white top, keeping it cool, stylish and so summer-ish.

Where to buy: Available in your local malls. Price could range from Rs 800 – Rs 1500.

Retro frames

arjun rampal
Thick framed dark glasses are in vogue these days. Seems like geeky is the new fashion in Bollywood. Rampal was seen sporting dark rimmed ‘Boss Orange’ spectacles in his movie Inkaar.

Time to play peekaboo

chitrangada
The sheer trend is here to stay this spring/summer season. You could either keep things subtle or downright risque. It all depends on how much you dare to bare.

Sling bags

Sonakshi-Sinha
Over sized slings, designer nonetheless, are a raging trend, especially preferred when travelling.
Sonakshi seems to have a penchant for large slings. Even men have started accepting that they need more pockets than just those on their jeans. Hrithik Roshan is often seen carrying one, too.

One color ensembles

Sonam kapoor
It is quite a fashion statement to walk out in a single colour outfit. Ms Kapoor took the risk and she did a great job as she carried off a cropped top and skirt by Nishka Lulla. It made us sit up for sure!

Big chunky watch dials

Abhishek-Bachchan
Gentlemen, class up your wrist with a large dialed metal watch. Take a leaf out of Abhishek Bachchan’s book and you will never go wrong with a watch which is a perfect amalgamation of style, elegance and charm. You can go for something as classy as an Omega (which Junior B endorses) or pick out something nice by Fossil, Titan or even Timex.
